If this had been done in the traditional upgrade fashion, we would have had discounted software upgrades for these new feature versions and the discount for upgrading would have gone down over the course of 1 to 2 versions. This includes features introduced in any version of the software during that timeframe. The reasoning for this is if you purchased the software on (for example), January 21st, 2020 and renewed in December 18th of 2021, you were getting all of the updates and upgrades to the software that occurred or will occur between Januand January 21, 2022. Renewals for the ProPresenter+ maintenance plan are then extended to the second anniversary date of the original purchase. Customers can renew their ProPresenter+ maintenance plan at any time within 12 months following that anniversary date. The ProPresenter+ maintenance plan expires on the first year anniversary of the sale of the license. If you allow your plan to expire, you keep the latest version you received while in the maintenance plan, but you will no longer receive updates for bug fixes and new features that are released after your expiration date, nor will you be entitled to live technical support (email, chat, or phone). With the ProPresenter+ maintenance plan you get all updates while your plan is active. What happens if I choose not to renew ProPresenter+?

If the ProPresenter+ maintenance plan is not renewed in the 12 months following the first anniversary, any updates or upgrades to the software, as well as dedicated support, will require the renewal of the license (do not buy new, renew your existing license to preserve any Bibles you bought). So only renewing for one year if you expired 8 months ago would get you another 4 months before you expire again, but this allows you to get all updates you've missed for the last 8 months and any new updates for the next 4 months. If your license has expired, it will add however many years you buy onto your existing expired date. When you renew, it will add a year (or two or three years if you bought that) onto your current expiration date.

This benefits you with a predictable expense, instead of surprise updates.
